Today marks six months since I lost my father to suicide. It has been one of the biggest trials I have ever had to face but continue to be as strong as I can be. For Christmas my mom had this necklace made for me that has some of my dads ashes burned into and says you are loved. It is a reminder that even when he is no longer here with me physically, he is there with me everywhere that I go. Most days it still feels like a dream and then Im hit with reality. Suicide is becoming a serious epidemic, especially in Utah. If you know of anyone who is suffering from depression or suicidal thoughts, be there for them. Listen, express you care and above all show them your love. Many feel that there is no one that loves them and that leaving is the best answer, its not. The best answer is to to truly be there for someone. If you are or know of anyone who has suffered a loss, I am here to always listen. I know how hard it can be and some people don't understand that grieving takes time. Every night I lose hime, every morning I wake up and realize he isn't here. The thoughts of what the future holds and how he won't be there to share it with is a hard realization to believe. But everyday I am grateful for friends and family who continue to show their love and support. If it wasn't for their prayers, sweet words and love I wouldn't be as strong as I am today.
