Necklaces with Meaning

Hello loves! We are officially half way through the week! With Christmas next week I wanted to do a special post on one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received. On September 10, 2015 my dad committed suicide. It came without any warning and to this day I ask myself "why?" For Christmas last year Derek and my mom came up with these two necklaces that I wear almost daily. The rectangle bar necklace is my dads birthday in roman numerals. The other one my mom had made and it contains something I never would have thought to put in a necklace. In the small round part contains some of my dads ashes. My dad everyday would ask "has anyone told you they loved you yet today?" Whether you said yes or no, he would say "consider it done." So on the bottom round part it says you are loved. To this day its still hard to talk about my dads passing. This past year he has missed out on so much and I still cant go to a wedding and stay in the room when the daddy daughter dance happens. To know I missed out on that breaks my heart but when I wear this necklace I know that he is with me always. It gives me a sense of peace knowing that he is no longer suffering and that he is in a better place. Sometimes in the middle of the night I can smell his cigars that I hated so much and have seen him watching over me in our room. You know that your parents will one day leave this earth but you never know that in rare occasions they can be taken long before expected. If you have lost a loved one and they have been cremated, I highly recommend doing something like this for them. Some people think its weird when I tell them, but they will never truly feel how I do until they too go through it. But for all of you that have and continue to support me, I love you deeply. Edgy Holiday

Hello loves! I hope that this post finds you well. How is it Monday already? The weekends never feel long enough. This week is a busy one with getting ready for Christmas next week! Who else hasn't done any shopping? I swore I was going to have it done a month before but here I am right before Christmas haha. Todays post is all about holiday wear with an edge. When I saw this skirt I just knew I had to have it! I have never owned any clothing in this color but I am obsessed. My black leather jacket is a staple in my wardrobe during the winter so I knew that I wanted to create a holiday inspired outfit using it. And this skirt was perfect. Pairing it will all black, this skirt gives the outfit the pop of color it needs. Edgy glam. Im seriously obsessed with this look and know that I will be wearing it as often as I can! It would be perfect for a New Years Eve look as well. When you are looking at clothing that you normally wouldn't wear, go for it! I have been wearing things lately I wouldn't have ever worn but told myself I need to get out of my comfort zone. And Im so glad that I did because the clothes I thought I would never wear have easily become my favorites! Hello loves! Its finally Friday and I am so ready for the weekend! Its been snowing like crazy up here in the valley, so weekend plans are still trying to be decided. What do you have planned? This post I wanted to go over how you don't always have to be buying new things to have style. This jacket I got two years ago and I am still obsessed with it. I feel that camo and green jackets will always be in style no matter what year it is. These jeans I bought in the summer which I am obsessed with! Clearly since they are like the only ones that fit me good right now haha. And these boots I got last year and are just as cute as they were when I first bought them. The only part of this outfit that is new is the amazing choker. Isn't it so pretty? I love it! Point being that no matter what is in your closet or how long you have had it, you can always make it come back in style! With being newly weds, I can't go shopping like I use to so taking pieces I already have and making different outfits is what Im big on! Hello loves! I hope this post finds you well and that your Tuesday is off to an amazing start! After all the snow we got yesterday, today is sunny and beautiful outside! We have friends coming up this weekend so today has been dedicated to deep cleaning the house and making sure its ready to accommodate our friends. This post is short today but I just wanted to share one of my go to outfits! Sad thing about this shirt, two days before this photo shoot I accidentally threw it in with the rest of my clothes and it shrunk. Worst thing ever because I am obsessed with this shirt! But decided I could still wear it. I love the lace up on the neck line and the peplum bottom. Two of my favorite things lately in one! Dress it up or dress it down, I am obsessed. Black is my go to color to wear so this shirt is perfect and oh so comfy. I decided to pair it with jeans and booties with a pop of color in the red choker! Different styles and patterns but they come together to create one of my favorite looks. These booties I got over a year ago and I am still in love with them now as I was when I bought them.
